About
Gregory Lanre Ijiwola
The
ministry of Gregory Lanre Ijiwola
began at an early age, when in August
1990 he heard the voice of God that
he was called to devote his life
to the ministry. In response to
this call he consecrated himself
and that began a journey of destiny.
Shortly after this, he functioned
as the bible study leader of his
high school christian group and
later as an undergraduate engineering
student in Obafemi Awolowo University
Ile Ife, Nigeria.
“I have called you to
devote your life to the ministry,
and I will train you for it.”
Not
fully understanding what he heard
but knowing he’d had a supernatural
experience, he kept it to himself.
Shortly
after this, an opportunity opened
for him to function as the bible
study leader of his high school
Christian group. It was during this
time that he began to grasp to an
extent the meaning of the word he
heard. In this season, he witnessed
a birth of a passion to teach and
talk to people of his generation
about their eternal destiny.
Two
years later, after his high school
education, he had another supernatural
encounter with God where God told
him to hand over the control of
his life to Him. It was a point
of consecration, a turning point
which he relates as handling over
his unknown future to the total
control of God.
-
Later, in 1994, as a first year
college student, He with some friends
pioneered a prayer group of young
Christians called the J7. The group,
spontaneously birthed, focused on
praying for the move of God in the
land in which they were located
and witnessed several young people
stirred up in preparation for the
work of God on the land.
Shortly
after this, He pastored the Kingsword
Fellowship, a dynamic word based
christian group on the college campus.
He did this for about five years.
In the latter part of his college
days, Pastor Lan received an instruction
from God. God spoke to him about
the unity of His body on the college
campus.
“Your
final assignment while you are resident
on this land is to help in bringing
my body together”
These
led to the establishment of the
Fellowship Alliance,
an organization that comprises of
leaders of fellowships and ministries
on the college campus. Up till this
present time (several years after
its inception), this organization
is still being used by God to carry
out His divine purposes on the college
campus.
Shortly
before leaving college, He heard
the voice of God again speaking
to his heart words that charted
the course of the next two years
of his life and ministry.
“I want
you to go to Lagos and raise me
a people”
In
November 1999 he began to pastor
the Kingsword Family Church Lagos,
Nigeria. During the two-year period
he pastored, the church developed
roots, foundations and structures
giving birth to several arms, one
of which is the campus invasion
outreaches that has planted several
other university churches in the
western parts of Nigeria. Presently,
the church has given birth to three
other churches with more still in
the works
In the year 2001, after his wedding,
God spoke to Pastor Lan, to move
to the United States of America
for the next phase of the divine
assignment.
He
presently functions as the pastor
of
CITYLIGHT INTERNATIONAL ASSEMBLY,
a Church in Chicago with the vision
of helping people maximize their
lives and raising up people who
would be shinning lights in everyman's
world and the nations of the earth.
Through
Gregory Ijiwola Ministries, Pastor
Lan communicates the gospel using
various avenues : audio media, literature,
conferences, seminars and other
available means to the nations in
fulfillment of the instruction God
gave him to cover the earth with
the knowledge of His Glory.
Pastor
Lan is passionate about stirring
up believers to the fulfilled living
that comes from walking in the realities
of their covenant inheritance in
Christ through every available means.
A publisher and author, Pastor Lan
is the CEO of Summit
House Publishers and the author
of the book,
"Just Before You Say I Do:
A Roadmap for Singles."
He
resides in Zion, Illinois with his
beautiful wife Debo; also a minister
